DARLINGTON OMODIAGBE Ready For First Game This Season
Published: September 21, 2012
Former Nigeria Under 23 international Darlington Omodiagbe has shed more light on his absence from the line - up of Wacker Burghausen this campaign.
Since Germany's third - tier kicked off exactly two months ago, Omodiagbe, who signed a one- year contract with Wacker Burghausen just before the start of the season, has not played for the club.
''I am in the squad to face Karlsruher SC on Saturday, and hope to play my first game of the season tomorrow.
''Before the season started I got injured in a friendly game against Salzburg, an abductor tear which had kept me out of action since June 30th. I am okay now, started training with the main squad last week,'' the experienced defender told allnigeriasoccer.com.
34 - year-old Omodiagbe, who also has German citizenship after spending 15 years in the country, was linked with Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande in the summer transfer market but the deal failed to materialize.
