NONSO LALA Targets Norwegian Cup Final
Published: September 25, 2012
As the countdown to Thursday's Norwegian Cup semifinal between Hodd and SK Brann begins, former Enyimba striker Nonso Lala has shared his thoughts and impressions to allnigeriasoccer.com on the encounter.
''It is a very massive game for the team and the supporters. It would be something special if we can beat Brann and qualify for the final of the competition. Before the season started, we had wanted to be promoted at the end of the campaign.
''The way things are going, we are no longer guaranteed an automatic promotion place. Progressing to the Cup final could be our only hope of winning silverware this season,'' said Nonso Lala.
SK Brann have a rich history in the Norwegian Cup, winning the title six times. And this suggests Hodd are the underdogs going into Thursday's game.
''I know Brann are the bookies favorites to progress, and have some big name players including Kim Ojo and Chukwuma Akabueze. The pressure is definitely on the opposition. We are very determined and ready to play the game of our lives,'' adds the former Flying Eagles invitee.
Hodd knocked out Tornado Maloy, Arna-Bjørnar, Asker, Sarpsborg 08 and Haugesund to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.
