Exclusive: CHARLES OKERE Fails To Clinch Al Fujairah SC Deal
Published: October 02, 2012
Free agent Charles Okere's search for a new club continues after his trip to UAE to test with a Pro League club Al Fujairah SC did not lead to a contract offer.
Following the relegation of LKS Spójnia Osiek-Zimnodóa to the fifth-tier of Polish football , the contract of the one time Unity Club of Owerri player was not renewed when it expired at the end of last season.
''The agent that took me to UAE was demanding $10,000 as monthly wages, but the club was only willing to part with $7,000. Personally I would have accepted the terms. However, my agent stood his ground and insisted Al Fujairah pay me monthly wages of $10,000.
''I am very disappointed that the deal did not work out after testing with the club for two weeks. I impressed during trial games, played out my life. There's nothing I can do about it, the decision is from my agent,'' Okere, who is married to a Polish lady, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Okere is now back in Poland where he is training on his own; waiting for further instructions from his agent. In the coming days, he could make a return to Asia as he has openings in Oman, Qatar, Vietnam and Bahrain.
