Exclusive: ABIOLA DAUDA Suspends Contract Talks With Kalmar
Published: October 02, 2012
Abiola Dauda has temporarily halted negotiations with his Swedish side Kalmar on a new contract.
The 24 - year - old attacker, second top scorer in the Allsvenskan with 13 goals in 20 matches, runs out of contract at the end of the season, and discussions with the Kalmar hierarchy on a new deal had started.
''I agreed with the club to suspend negotiations until the end of the season. This is to enable me concentrate on the remaining games in the championship and to weigh other options available to me,'' says Dauda to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Polish club Lech Pozna had seriously courted Abiola Dauda in the summer transfer window. But the Nigerian chose to continue playing with The Red Brothers.
''It is correct that Lech Pozna were interested in signing me this past summer. I knew they sent scouts to watch me in action on two occasions. There was contact between Lech Poznan and my agent , but I was not interested in leaving Kalmar,'' he said.
