Spartak Moscow Coach Punishes EMENIKE For Feigning Injury The credibility of Spartak Moscow front-man Emmanuel Emenike is in doubt, Life Sports Russia reported on Friday.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria international did not take part in the week 12 round of games against Anzhi Makhachkala citing back pains.

Investigations were conducted by the management of Spartak Moscow and findings revealed that Emenike feigned injury before the game against Anzhi and ruled himself out of the tie, the Russian website disclosed.

Thus, Spanish coach of the red and white Unai Emery punished Emenike by refusing to field him in the Champions League tie against Benfica despite declaring himself fit for the game.

''Doctors did not find any damage to Emenike at the back, which the Nigerian persistently complained about. Management and coaching staff of the team felt that the attacker feigned an injury and decided not to field him in the Champions League match, even though the player wanted to play, a club source told lifesports.ru.

The relationship between Emenike and the coaching staff is not cordial. There is no concrete evidence against the former Karabükspor star so he could not be fined by the club.

Emenike played his 12th game of the season on Saturday in Spartak Moscow's  2 - 0 win over Mordovia Saransk. He was introduced in the second half by coach Unai Emery.
