RASHEED ALABI Vows To Play Out His Contract With AC Omonia
Published: November 19, 2012
Centre-back Rasheed Alabi has vowed to play out his contract, which expires June 2013, at AC Omonia.
He had been on the brink of quitting the capital club in the summer transfer market, but after holding clear the air talks with the club hierarchy, the former Flying Eagles invitee was allowed to continue his career with the 20 - time league champions.
''I have not been offered a new contract by AC Omonia. And I don't have plans of leaving the club in January. I am focusing on the team now,'' says Alabi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Following the departure of coach Neophytos Larkou in September and the subsequent appointment of Macedonian Toni Savevski , Alabi has been reinstated to the first team.
''We can all see the new coach is doing a great job by giving every player a chance to show his abilities. I hope he continues like that,'' said Alabi.
Rasheed Alabi took an early shower last weekend. Against Apollon in the tenth round, he was shown a straight red card by referee Marios Nikolaou.
