Champions League Round Up: Nigerian Players Suffer Defeats

In an early kick-off match that involved Emmanuel Emenike's Russian club Spartak Moscow and FC Barcelona, The Red and White were walloped by Barcelona 3-0 at their home ground. Emenike played for 64 minutes and the result means Spartak have been mathematically eliminated from the competition.
In Italy, Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel and his compatriot Victor Moses, were both in action for the reigning European Champions Chelsea , as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Juventus. Mikel played for 71minutes before he was substituted for Spanish striker Fernando Torres, while Victor Moses saw action for 30 minutes.
With this result Chelsea need to beat FC Nordsjaelland and pray Shakhtar Donetsk, who have qualified for the knockout rounds already, beat Juventus, in other for them to progress.
Scottish champions Celtic were beaten in Portugal 2-1 by Benfica.Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose played the entire 90 minutes.
Left-back Uwa Echiejile was omitted from the Sporting Braga line-up in their 1 - 3 loss to CFR Cluj.
