KESHI To Pick Committed Players For Nations Cup
Published: November 22, 2012
Commitment ahead of club form would be the yardstick Eagles gaffer Stephen Keshi would use in naming his 23 - man roster for the 2013 African Cup, the former Anderlecht libero has opined to MTNFootball.com.
Historically, Nigeria has failed in major tournaments because the players did not perform adequately.
Keshi said: ''It’s not how well you play for your club, but the 120 per cent you give me when I invite you that will be crucial in my decision. Selection headache? Yes, to an extent because all the players are doing well.''
Though the Confederation of African Football has not set a deadline for the submission of the team lists of qualified countries, it is assumed that Keshi must do so before January 9, 2013.
