EJIDE Suffers Dip In Form, Concedes Four Goals In 20 Minutes
Published: November 27, 2012
On Monday night, Austin Ejide's claims to the Super Eagles number one jersey were seriously hampered after he conceded four goals in a space of 20 minutes against Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Israel international of Nigeria descent Toto Tamuz netted a hat - trick for the State Cup defending champions.
Coach Elisha Levy has admitted that Ejide's performance in the 1 - 4 loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv was below standard.
He was quoted as saying by one.co.il: ''He lost concentration and conceded goals he usually does not allow go in. I do not think you can explain it and he just had an off day.''
Ejide's temporary loss of form is baffling. On return to Israel from international duty with the Nigeria selection, due to recent events, he stayed behind in the country to train with the rest of his teammates. And against Venezuela in Miami, United States, he was outstanding in goal.
