TAYE TAIWO: No Contact With Besiktas
Published: November 28, 2012Nigeria international Taye Taiwo has told local media he is unaware of interest from Besiktas. Trending reports at home and abroad had linked the Dynamo Kiev wing back with the Turkish club in the January transfer window, which opens in five weeks time.
Coach Samet Aybaba had reportedly scouted Taiwo in Dynamo Kiev's Champions League match against PSG last Wednesday. Following the long term injury to İsmail Köybaşı, Besiktas want to supplement the defense.
''The loan deal is for one year and not 6 months and so we’ll see what happens after it expires but right now am concentrating on my time with Dynamo but even if they offer me a permanent deal I will still have to go back to my parent club (AC Milan), Dynamo is a good club and so I will think about my future.
''I don’t have any link or contact with any other club or Besiktas, the most important thing for me now is this period with Dynamo and so after the deal we’ll see what happens but for now, I just want to concentrate on playing for Dynamo Kyiv,'' Taiwo told Brila FM Players Scorecard on Wednesday morning.
Taiwo has praised his teammates - Yussuf Ayila and Brown Ideye - following the 4 - 0 victory over city rivals Arsenal Kiev in the 17th round of matches in the Ukrainian Premier League.
He told the radio station: ''He (Brown Ideye) is very fantastic right now, everybody is happy and am happy for him that he came back to score two goals because as a striker, he needs to be scoring in every game and so that’s the most important for him but Yusuf also has been training very hard and it’s important that he takes his opportunity whenever the manager gives him, he is a very good player who can play in all positions from defensive midfield to central so if he can play, I can play, Brown plays and Lukman, it’s going to be fantastic seeing four Nigerian players in one team.''
