ODION IGHALO: Granada Will Bounce Back
Published: December 04, 2012
Granada are struggling to keep pace with the rest of the teams in Spain's Primera Division. The Rojiblancos horizontales are placed 18th on the 20 - team table after amassing 12 points from 14 matches.
Former Nigeria youth - international Odion Ighalo is in his fourth season on loan at Granada. He is hopeful that the club will survive the drop at the end of the season, and has admitted that Lady Luck has not smiled on the team in the last three games.
''Well we are working hard and playing well. It is just that we are facing hard times now, and maybe hard luck. But we will bounce back. This is something that is not new to us,'' says Ighalo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The games are coming thick and fast for Granada. Juan Antonio Anquela's charges will play their fourth game in two weeks against high-flying Malaga on Saturday, a difficult away match against the Champions League campaigners.
''All games in La Liga are difficult, so we are just training hard. And we are all going to do our best to get a good result. It is going to be a touch game because it is a derby game,'' Ighalo said.
Ighalo, 23, was the top scorer for Granada last season with 6 goals, but has fired blanks in five appearances this campaign.
