Peter Odemwingie Launches Attack On NFF, Keshi
Published: December 24, 2012
Nigeria international Peter Odemwingie launched a violent attack on the Nigeria Football Federation, coach Stephen Keshi and sports writers yesterday on Twitter.
The West Brom forward is not pleased with his omission from the Eagles 32 - man preliminary Nations Cup roster which was released last weekend, claiming that his rejection was not based on sporting reasons.
''I am not surprised Keshi and NFF couldn’t tell me themselves. No personality. This might sound disrespectful, but Eagles had no good captain for many years. Everyone looking only after himself.
''We talk through press… how come I am the only stubborn one, but no ex-Eagles player was sent off from the team with respect? Keshi has no footballing reasons not to invite me, but he is not saying the truth. ‘He is still in my plans,’ he said… coach u no dey my plans,'' Odemwingie said on his official Twitter handle.
In an attack spread over 20 tweets, Odemwingie opined that the Nigeria Federation repeatedly blacklisted players at the slightest hint of insubordination. In one of the tweets, he disclosed that an official of the NFF had called to insult him.
