Celtic Target Rami Gershon As Ambrose's Replacement
Published: December 30, 2012
Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic want to strengthen their defense in the January transfer window.
Efe Ambrose has been named in Nigeria's provisional African Cup of Nations roster. According to the Scottish Daily Record, to fill the gap created by Efe's absence, coach Neil Lennon has beamed his searchlight on 24 - year - old Israel international Rami Gershon, who plays for Standard Liege.
''We are looking at adding one or two players to strengthen the squad,'' Lennon told dailyrecord.co.uk
Presumably, Ambrose will miss games in the SPL against Heart of Midlothian, Kilmarnock and Inverness CT if Nigeria qualifies for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations.
A summer arrival from MS Ashdod, Ambrose has since played 15 games (1 goal) for the SPL champions.
