Ikechukwu Uche Wants Things To Change In The New Year
Published: December 31, 2012
Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche says it is important for the club to win the next league game against Barcelona B to enable the team climb the table. After 19 rounds in the Segunda Division, The Yellow Submarine are 5th on the table, but trail log leaders Elche by 14 points.
Uche told the official website, villarrealcf.es: ''We have to improve, we need better results and that the work we are doing is reflected in the team results. Now we know we can not fail and we hope this new year things will change for the better. Now we can not fail, we know that this time is crucial and we must compete in every game. It is true that we are missing goals, but that's not the only problem the team. We must improve, we need to start well and they get the results now. "
In addition, Uche commented on the agreement reached between the Nigeria Football Federation and Villarreal so that he can play the match against Barcelona B.
''This is good news for everyone and for the team, as this first game is very important . The idea is to go play with the national team's friendly in midweek in the next two days and then come and play the game against Barcelona B on Saturday. My absence is something that was known. I hope that my colleagues do the right thing and that the team keeps winning,'' says Uche.
Villarreal could strengthen the squad in the winter transfer market. Uche says it is good for the team as it enables them to have more options.
