Agent Dismisses Reports Utaka Demanded 500% Pay Rise
Published: January 04, 2013
Reports from China had suggested that Peter Utaka could be leaving Dalian Aerbin after stalled contract negotiations.
The Nigeria international is said to have demanded a whooping 500 percent increase in wages to sign a new deal.
Dalian Aerbin travel to Turkey for a training camp on January 8. Utaka's representative Kim Chang confirmed the Nigeria international will join the rest of his teammates at winter training and negotiations on the renewal of his contract will begin soon.
''Today's world is crazy. One does not know why people are eager to come out with such an outrageous figure. Utaka's contract extension has simply not begun to talk about, never mind the figures,'' Chang was quoted as saying by Netease Sport.
Based on Utaka's current contract, he will defend the colors of Dalian Aerbin until December , 2013. Any interested suitor must be ready to pay 1.5 million euros as transfer fee to prise him away from the Chinese Super League side.
