Ejike Uzoenyi Delighted To Make Nations Cup Squad
Published: January 10, 2013
Enugu Rangers exciting winger Ejike Uzoenyi is delighted to make Stephen Keshi's 23 - man roster for the African Cup of Nations.
Before the official announcement of the squad on Wednesday evening, several permutations by pundits had ruled him out of the tournament.
''I was not scared I was not going to make the team before it was released. I put my faith in God as I know there is nothing He can't do. Immediately I heard my name being mentioned, I shouted 'Jesus', that I can't do without him for his kindness.
''My ambition now is to win the Nations Cup with the coaches. I am believing in God I am going to have a good tournament. My family has sent me text messages to congratulate me for making the squad to South Africa,'' a jubilant Uzoenyi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Uzoenyi is one of three Enugu Rangers that will be on the flight to South Africa. He is joined by goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim and Sunday Mba.
