Published: January 14, 2013
The Nigeria Football Federation has sent the International Transfer Certificate of Ugonna Ezenwaka to Israel. The Flying Eagles midfielder can now start playing for Premier League club Maccabi Netanya after weeks of suspense.
Recall that Ezenwaka signed a one - year contract (option for four years inserted in deal) with Maccabi Netanya since November, 2012.
However, he could not make his debut due to missing paper - work. The case was reported to football's regulator Fifa. In its ruling, the body mandated the Nigeria Federation to release the player's international card.
''I feel better and relaxed now. All I need to do now is focus on my game and prove my abilities. Since the problem of non - release of ITC started, I have been training with the second team. I will play a game for the reserves on Saturday and hopefully join the main squad next week,'' a relieved Ezenwaka told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Ugonna Ezenwaka will play with jersey number 24 for Maccabi Netanya in the league.
