Published: January 15, 2013
After close to eight years playing in Europe, John Chibuzo Nwankpa will continue his career in Asia.
The 28 - year - old striker, who last played for Proszowianka Proszowice in the basement division in Poland, has traveled to India to sign a one - year contract with I - League side Sporting Clube de Goa.
''Nwankpa was offered a one - year deal by Sporting Goa since the 17th of June, 2012. But he had problems securing a visa for the trip to India. The India Embassy in Warsaw finally issued him a visa on December 21, a six - month working visa. It is a good contract for him as he will earn more than what he was getting in Poland,'' John Nwankpa's agent informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
John Nwankpa has an impressive CV. He has caps for the Nigeria Under 17 and 20 teams. The ex KAA Gent player is famous in Belgium for scoring in a cup game against FC Brussels some seasons back.
