Burkina Faso coach, Paul Put fancies his team's chances of progressing to the quarter - finals of the African Cup of Nations after the encouraging 1 - 1 draw against one of the group favorites Nigeria in the opening fixture.
Put told reporters: ''My players have done well tonight and l thought we played a good game .After this game and the way we played l think the opportunity for us to qualify to the next round is still open.''
On his part, Burkina Faso skipper Dagano Moumouni says the draw against Nigeria is a sign that the team can improve in subsequent matches against Ethiopia and Zambia.
''It was a hard game against Nigeria as we expected but to get a draw is good for us. We know that as a team we can play even better, so we are going to work hard for the next games,'' he said.
The architect of the drawn match against Nigeria which looked like a victory was the Lorient striker Alain Traore, who scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time, after receiving a pass from Jonathan Pitroipa.
