Alaiya Allays Fears On Emenike Injury
Published: February 07, 2013
Ben Alaiya, spokesman of the Super Eagles, has played down speculations that Emmanuel Emenike is injured and may not be available for Sunday's African Cup of Nations final against Burkina Faso.
Earlier, there were fears that the Spartak Moscow ace had pulled his hamstring after he struck a shot in the 87th minute of yesterday's encounter.
''Emenike's injury is not serious, he had just a knock which is minor. He should be fit for final, but we are waiting for the medical report on him which should be ready by lunch time,'' says Ben Alaiya.
The profile of Emmanuel Emenike is rising in South Africa. He has been credited with four goals in five matches by the official website of CAF.
