Jonathan Pitroipa Will Play Final - CAF
Published: February 08, 2013Burkina Faso winger Jonathan Pitroipa has been cleared by tournament's organizers CAF to participate in Sunday's African Cup of Nations final against Nigeria.
Recall that the Rennes player was unjustly expelled by Tunisian referee Slim Jdidi in the semi - final tie against the Black Stars for simulation. The controversial referee later admitted that he was wrong in sending off Pitroipa.
After using viewing evidence and Jdidi's confession, the Appeals Committee rescinded the red card shown to Jonathan Pitroipa. Thus, he will play the final on Sunday at Soccer City, Johannesburg.
Jonathan Pitroipa has netted 6 goals in 38 appearances for the Burkina Faso selection.
