No Sanliurfaspor Contract For Sibi Gwar
Published: February 09, 2013
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that last season's top scorer in the domestic championship Sibi Gwar returned to Nigeria on Thursday after more than one week of trials with Turkish second - tier Sanliurfaspor.
Sanliurfaspor, managed by Kemal Kılıç, had wanted to bolster their squad with an offensive reinforcement in the January transfer window. For the past three months, the club based in Southern Turkey had been tracking Sibi Gwar and invited him for trials late last month.
Unfortunately, Gwar has not convinced the technical bench and left Turkey empty handed without being offered a contract. He has started training with new club Enyimba of Aba and could be available for selection when they face Dolphins on Sunday in a high profile pre-season practice match.
If Gwar had impressed the leadership of Sanliurfaspor, he would have been offered a two-and-a-half year contract with annual wages of 150,000 euros.
It would be recalled that the 25 - year - old former Niger Tornadoes star tested in Israel with Bnei Yehuda last summer but nothing came out of the trials.
