Kenneth Omeruo Starts Training With Ado Den Haag On Monday
Published: February 15, 2013
Super Eagles central defender Kenneth Omeruo will not play against SC Heerenveen on Sunday in the Dutch championship, writes omroepwest.nl.
The teenager, who was part of Nigeria's African Cup of Nations squad, is still in Abuja celebrating the country's triumph at the tournament in South Africa. All things being equal, he will practice with his teammates this coming Monday for the first time since January.
In all likelihood, Dion Malone will replace Omeruo at right back. The Nigeria international has started 16 games for ADO Den Haag this season.
Highly respected Italian journalist Malu 'Mpasinkatu, writing for Tuttomercatweb, named Kenneth Omeruo in his Afcon Team of the Tournament. Other Nigerian players that made the list include Vincent Enyeama, Godfrey Oboabona, Obi Mikel and Emmanuel Emenike.
