Akpoveta Thinks Ex Teammate Mba Will Succeed In Europe
Published: February 18, 2013
Brondby striker Oke Akpoveta has backed former teammate at Warri Wolves Sunday Mba to succeed if he gets signed on by a European club.
The new Super Eagles hero is said to be attracting interest from clubs overseas following his match wining performances at the just concluded African Cup of Nations.
''Sunday Mba is a good player. I played with him, Nosa, Azubuike and Fegor Ogude at Wolves before I signed for Brondby.
''I think he can make it any professional club in Europe. He is fast and has excellent technique. I am not surprised he is being chased by clubs abroad.
''I was delighted coach Stephen Keshi named three players from Warri Wolves in his Nations Cup squad. It is not too early for Sunday to move to Europe. In fact, this is long overdue,'' Akpoveta told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Mba tested with Norwegians Haugesund in the winter of 2007 but was not offered a contract despite scoring a hat-trick in a test game.
