Fegor Ogude Could Be Fined 13,500 Euros For Missing Camp
Published: February 19, 2013
Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten writes on its website that Nigeria international and Vålerenga central midfielder Fegor Ogude could be sanctioned financially after he failed to join the club's pre-season training camp in La Manga, Spain.
Vålerenga are not pleased that Ogude unilaterally agreed to travel to Norway instead of Spain.
His return ticket to Alicante, Spain had been booked for Tuesday, and despite assurances by the ex Warri Wolf, he arrived Oslo, where his family resides, on Sunday morning.
''I'm curious to see if it is as we would expect, '' VIF-coach Kjetil Rekdal told Aftenposten.no on Saturday morning.
The 25- year - old Super Eagle is likely to be fined for disobeying the internal regulations of the club.
At this point, it is unknown the amount of wage deductions he'll be penalized.
Previous offenders - Demar Phillips and Jason Morrison - had been fined 100,000 NOK each (equivalent of 13,500 euros or =N=2.8 million) for extending their Christmas holidays without authorization.
The squad returns from Spain on Tuesday. Vålerenga will play their first match in the Tippeligaen on March 16 against Chuks Akabueze's SK Brann.
