England youth - teamer Sammy Ameobi will play on loan at championship side Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season, the club has stated on its official website.
Manager Tony Mowbray is delighted with the arrival of Ameobi, who primarily belongs to Newcastle United.
''He gives us a different option and more options in an a similar way to Muzzy Carayol.
"He's an out and out attacking wide player, who can operate on either side and will be ideal when we want to play with two wingers,'' ," said manager Tony Mowbray to mfc.co.uk.
20 - year - old Ameobi made 8 appearances (one start) for Newcastle United in the Premier League without scoring.
