Levante Want Martins To Buy Out Contract
Published: February 28, 2013
The hierarchy at La Liga side Levante are discussing with Obafemi Martins on his proposed move to Seattle Sounders, writes authoritative Spanish sports daily Marca.
Obafemi Martins met with club president Francisco Catalan, who was accompanied by sporting director Manolo Salvador, for a private discussion at a Valencia hotel.
Levante have refused to continue negotiations with Seattle Sounders, who are believed to have sent their representatives to Valencia.
In case Martins wants to leave the club for the United States, he must buy out the remaining period of his contract valued at 3 million euros.
The Nigeria international is unhappy with Levante after they reneged on payment of 68,000 euros for his image rights. Again, he is being heavily taxed in Spain.
