Agboebina Inching Closer To Goals Target
Published: March 03, 2013
In-form St George's striker Agboebina Osi Lucky netted his 14th goal of the season in a closely fought encounter against Msida SJ on Saturday afternoon, which ended 1 - 1.
''I am getting closer to my goals target of 18. It would also be nice if we are promoted at the end of the season. This is my first full season in Malta and I want it to end well,'' an elated Agboebina told allnigeriasoccer.com.
These days, so many Nigerian professional players ply their trade in the Island Nation.
The 24 - year - old Agboebina reveals many scouts follow the championship. And it could be a big leap to one of the top leagues in Europe if you prove your worth.
''I think Malta League is getting interesting and attractive in Europe. And so many agents in Europe come to Malta to search for talents. Not only Nigerians, there are a lot of Brazilian, Portuguese and Italian players here.
''Nigerian players come here because if you play good and score goals, you have overseas club eyeing you,'' he said.
With Saturday's draw, St George remain second on the table with 35 points from 19 games, 9 points behind log leaders Zebbug R.
