Real Betis To Fine Nosa Igiebor 18, 750 Euros
Published: March 30, 2013
According to reports in the Spanish media, Nigeria international Nosa Igiebor will be sanctioned financially for returning late to Seville after the African Cup of Nations.
It would be recalled that the German authorities did not allow the Super Eagle come down from the plane in Frankfurt on Saturday, February 16.
Nosa Igiebor was sent back to Nigeria to authenticate his papers. Finally, the bureaucratic problem was resolved and the attacking midfielder returned to Spain about three weeks ago.
Spain's authoritative sports daily Marca says Real Betis will fine Nosa Igiebor 75 percent of his monthly wages, which translates to around €18, 750(equivalent of =N=3.75 million).
Betis chiefs have not communicated the decision to Nosa Igiebor but plan to notify him on Monday, April 1.
Nosa and his advisers could pick holes in the ruling as the club's internal regulation states that disciplinary verdicts must be announced not later than 5 days .
In this case, Real Betis will exceed that limit by at least 19 days.
