It was insult to injury as SønderjyskE lost the tie to FCM 0-2, with the goals coming from Sylvester Igboun and Rilwan Hassan.
After 30 minutes, Afolabi was stretchered off, and the news from the club doctors are not very encouraging.
''He's been x-rayed, and it has proved that he has broken a rib. We expect he is out for three to four weeks if all goes well, '' says SønderjyskE's physiotherapist, Carl Hamann, to bold.dk .
32 - year - old Rabiu Afolabi signed a short term deal with SønderjyskE in mid March.
Credited with 20 caps for the National Team of Nigeria, he previously defended the colors of Monaco, Standard Liege, Austria Vienna and Sochaux.
