Update: Crocked John Ogu Absent From Thursday Training
Published: April 11, 2013
Nigeria international John Ogu was absent from training on Thursday morning.
This is the fourth consecutive day John Ogu will miss training after failing to recover from a left knee injury.
Allnigeriasoccer.com earlier reported that Academica de Coimbra doctors had recommended that John Ogu should undergo urgent surgery.
In fact, club medics want Ogu to provide a medical certificate issued at his former club Almeria of Spain.
This is to enable them make proper diagnosis of the knee injury and possibly know his duration on the sidelines.
John Ogu is desperate to play at the Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil but there are no shortcuts for treatment of sports injuries.
He has visited a specialist and fluids have been extracted from the knee.
The midfielder might have aggravated the knee injury he picked up two years ago while defending the colors of Almeria.
