As reported by Tuttosport, Roma will challenge Juventus and AC Milan for the signature of the highly sought - after defender Angelo Ogbonna in the summer transfer market.

Urbano Cairo, chairman of Torino, is willing to allow Ogbonna leave Turin if an interested suitor tables an offer too good to refuse. In addition, it is about time the 24 - year - old defender moves to a club competing for silverware.

It has been reported that the leadership of Juventus has opened a line of communication with Ogbonna's agent, Giovanni Branchini.

Last month,  sporting director Fabio Guild had dinner with Branchini to discuss the possibility of Angelo Ogbonna pitching his tent with Juventus at the end of the season.

AC Milan are in the market for a new defender and see Ogbonna as an ideal candidate for that position.
