Turkish Court Clears Emmanuel Emenike In Match Fixing Scandal

Spartak Moscow striker Emmanuel Emenike has been acquitted in the match fixing scandal in Turkey.
The 25-year-old Nigeria international, then on the payroll of Karabükspor, was accused of faking injury before the game against league champions Fenerbahce two years ago, an allegation that Karabükspor denied vehemently, saying Emenike was injured a week before the game.
Turkish prosecutors had claimed Emmanuel Emenike had been promised a transfer to Fenerbahce if he missed the match.
He was even threatened with a three - year prison sentence.
Now the case has been dropped due to lack of evidence, according to reports in Turkey.
