Published: May 02, 2013
After starting the 2013 league season like a man on a mission, offers have began to pour in for Super Eagles right full back Chibuzor Okonkwo.
The on loan Rangers utility defender's eleectric start to the season has not gone un noticed by foreign clubs who want to lure him into their fold to fortify their defenses.
Okonkwo revealed this to exclusively to allnigeriasoccer.com while re-iterating his resolve to concentrate on doing his best for Rangers International in the local and continental scene, while leaving all talks of his future to his parent club Oak Zeel FC to sort out.
"My position is simple. I will keep doing my best at all times for Rangers International because that is my job for now.
''I have always had the confidence of the coaching crew led by Coach Okey Emordi and even the fans always hail and encourage me whenever they see me on the streets of Enugu."
According to a source close to Chibuzor Okonkwo, his recent performances have not gone un noticed by foreign scouts as quite a few have indicated their interest in acquiring his services in the summer but Chibuzor claims all he wants to do is concentrate on his football and leave his future in the hands of Oak Zeel FC.
"I have a wonderful relationship with Oak Zeel FC and Rangers and we all understand that if a good offer comes for me then I will move abroad.
''In fact, a foreign club recently called Rangers management to indicate their interest in signing me but Rangers told them to get in touch with Oak Zeel as I am only on a loan deal with them.
''For me, I will just keep doing my best for Rangers at the moment. I weighed in with two assists in the 4-0 victory over Kano Pillars and I aim to take the good form to Angola where we will aim to get a victory and qualify for the CAF Champions
League stage.
''If it happens that my club and any foreign club agree terms and I am told to proceed, I will pack my bags and proceed. But for now I will continue to give Rangers 120% in every game,'' he said.
