Nosa Igiebor Shrugs Off Injury, Named In Squad To Face Barcelona
Published: May 04, 2013
Despite fitness concerns, Real Betis attacking midfielder Nosa Igiebor trained with the squad on Friday.
There had been doubts on his availability for Sunday's tie with Barcelona, but manager Pepe Mel has kept faith with the Nigeria international by naming him in the provisional squad for the trip to Nou Camp.
Nosa has a bone complaint and is now following the instructions of Chief of Medical Services of Betis, Thomas Calero, who has advised the club to postpone surgery until the end of the season.
The 22 - year - old has made 14 appearances in the Primera Division, scoring once against bitter rivals Sevilla last month.
However, it should be noted that he was absent from Seville for about two months due to national team commitments and the visa episode.
