''I am delighted to sign this new contract. This club has treated me well since I arrived. I didn't have to think too much before agreeing to extend my contract.

''I really enjoyed playing football for Omonia last season. I now want to spend time with my family and come back to the club stronger for next season,'' Rasheed Alabi told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.

Before extending his contract with the 20 - time champions of Cyprus this week, Rasheed Alabi was on the wish list of clubs in China, Turkey as well as Polish club √Ööl√ĄÖsk Wroc√Öāaw.

Once touted as the new Stephen Keshi, the versatile defender has made over 80 career appearances for AC Omonia.
