Nigerian stopper Rasheed Alabi has committed his future to Cypriot giants AC Omonia by putting pen to paper on a new two - year contract.
It would be recalled that this portal exclusively revealed back in March that the AC Omonia hierarchy had intended to continue their collaboration with the former Flying Eagles defender.
Rasheed Alabi, who initially signed for The Greens five years ago, is now under contract until the end of the 2014 - 2015 season.
''I am delighted to sign this new contract. This club has treated me well since I arrived. I didn't have to think too much before agreeing to extend my contract.
''I really enjoyed playing football for Omonia last season. I now want to spend time with my family and come back to the club stronger for next season,'' Rasheed Alabi told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
Before extending his contract with the 20 - time champions of Cyprus this week, Rasheed Alabi was on the wish list of clubs in China, Turkey as well as Polish club lsk Wrocaw.
Once touted as the new Stephen Keshi, the versatile defender has made over 80 career appearances for AC Omonia.
