'New Nwankwo Kanu', Paul Onuachu Pens New Three - Year Contract With FC Midtjylland
Published: June 06, 2013
19 - year - old striker Paul Onuachu and 18 - year - old winger Musefiu Ashiru have both extended their contracts with Danish club FC Midtjylland, writes the official website.
Next season, both Nigerians will become part of a newly created intermediate squad of players, who play for both the academy and first teams.
While Onuachu, regarded in some quarters as the new Nwankwo Kanu, has signed a three - year contract, Ashiru penned a one - year deal.
''Paul has developed really well, and with his size, he has a physical advantage.
''He has some of the things that needed to be a top striker. It is a player we expect a lot, but he must continue his development, and he is not in our plans in the short term,'' says Claus Steinlein to fcm.dk.
Onuachu and Ashiru made their debut for FC Midtjylland in a cup game against Randers.
