Exclusive Interview With Wisla Krakow's Emmanuel Sarki
Published: June 10, 2013
Fresh from signing a new three - year contract with Polish topflight club WisÅa Kraków, ex Chelsea youth team player Emma Sarki presently on a summer vacation in Kaduna spoke with allnigeriasoccer.com.
..ON CONTRACT EXTENSION
''Yes I did sign a fresh three-year deal at WisÅa Kraków, precisely on the 26th of last month.By our standard I will say we had an average season as a team but I chose to extend my stay with them(Wisla Krakov) despite interest from Belgium,Turkey and Germany as they are a team that showed me they value my services. And I am at an age(25 years, ed) where I need to play regularly and that I am guaranteed at WisÅa Kraków.''
....ANY CHELSEA REGRET
''Not at all because Chelsea changed my life, that of my family and helped shape my career. But I only wish they had a stable managerial structure that would have helped my ambition of breaking into the first team.''
...CAREER HIGHPOINT
''Obviously for now it has to be being a part of the Chelsea team that went on a pre-season tour in the United State of America in 2006. It is an experience I still cherish till date.''
...CAREER LOWPOINT
''Missing out of the Beijing Olympics in 2008 hurt me more than anything else especially after doing so well in an invitational tournament prior to the games where I emerged as the MVP and top scorer. Having played for the U-17 and U-20 teams, I wanted to make it to the U-23 team but I was dropped. It still hurts because I strongly believe it's part of the reasons why I haven't debuted for the Super Eagles as most of the players in that silver winning team got invited to the Eagles. I am a very religious person so God knows best.''
.....NATIONAL TEAM HOPE
''Like I said earlier missing out on the Beijing Olympics squad has affected my quest for a place in the Eagles. With God everything is possible and I am still young. For now I will rather concentrate on my club and improve on my performance than bother about the National team. If my performance with my club is good the national team will come chasing me. I will like my invitation to be strictly based on merit.''
