Exclusive: Rosenborg Reject Bids For John Chibuike
Published: June 25, 2013
According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com's Editorial staff, Scandinavia powerhouse Rosenborg have rejected bids from clubs that are interested in the acquisition of Nigerian midfielder John Chibuike in the summer transfer window.
The 24 - year - old signed a three - and - a - half - year deal with Norway's most successful club two summers ago.
Though John Chibuike was a big hit in his first season, he has been pushed down Per Joar Hansen's pecking order in recent months.
Before RBK went on summer vacation, the ex Hacken star handed in a transfer request.
High - level discussions have taken place between the RBK hierarchy and John Chibuike, and this portal understands that the club has convinced him to remain at least until the end of this season.
This means that should he depart the Lerkendal Stadion, it can only be feasible in the winter transfer market or an interested club will have to make an offer too good to be rejected in the coming weeks.
Under contract with Rosenborg until December 2014, Chibuike has started only one game this season after 13 rounds of matches in the Tippeligaen.
