Real Betis Rescind Decision To Fine Nosa Igiebor
Published: July 04, 2013
Much was said and written about the soap opera involving Nosa Igiebor last season when, after winning the African Cup with Nigeria, the Betis midfielder could not return to Seville until 23 days later because of some bureaucratic problems with his visa.
The club later announced that the Nigeria international will be fined around 20,000 euros.
But after listening to the explanations of Nosa Igiebor and his representative, the leadership of Betis has tempered justice with mercy by rescinding the earlier decision to sanction the attacking midfielder
Estadiodeportivo.com with reference to ABC quoted Betis president Miguel Guillen as saying: ''He was not fined because we felt that in the explanations given to us Nosa and his agent might have a point. ''
Though Real Betis acknowledged that Nosa made a mistake, he tried his possible best to remedy the situation.
In addition, he arrived the club in good physical condition and started playing almost immediately.
