Valenciennes Bid For Izunna Uzochukwu
Published: July 05, 2013
Danish club FC FC Midtjylland have rejected an undisclosed bid from Valenciennes for defensive midfielder Izunna Uzochukwu, according to bold.dk.
But the club, which finished 11th in Ligue 1 last term, has not abandoned its pursuit of the former FC Ebedei talent and are currently negotiating with the Wolves.
''They have bid for him, but FC Midtjylland do not want to sell at the price they were offered. We are now in talks for the bid to be higher, '' says Izunna's agent, Andrew Zolotco to bold.dk.
''Izunna is very interested in a change. The French league is evolving much, so it will be a step forward for him.''
The 23 - year - old runs out of contract at the end of next season, hence FCM must sell now or lose him for nothing in 2014.
''FC Midtjylland must understand that he only has one year left. If they will not sell now, he leaves them free next summer. The amount they require is to be honest not realistic,'' adds Andrew Zolotco.
Izunna Uzochukwu has played a total of 108 matches for FCM in the Super League.
