Maccabi Tel Aviv Set 48 - Hour Deadline For Enyeama To Accept Offer
Published: July 07, 2013
According to reporting by one.co.il, Maccabi Tel Aviv have given Vincent Enyeama the next 48 hours to accept their offer of a three - year contract plus annual wage of 600,000 euros or they will turn their focus to another goalkeeper.
The Yellows want the 30 - year - old Nigeria international to sign the contract before next Monday's UEFA Champions League fixture against Gyri ETO.
If that is the case, the club can register him for the tie against the Hungarian champions as the game's governing body in Europe, UEFA permits teams to register players a day before the match.
With new Lille manager René Girard stating that all the players in the squad will have a chance in the first team if they impress him during pre - season training, it is understandable that Enyeama is leaving his options open and not in a hurry to accept the proposal from Maccabi.
Cameroon international Carlos Kameni was touted to be an alternative to Enyeama, but he is asking for a salary of 1 million euros, which is beyond the financial capability of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
