Enyimba Closing In On Deal For Ezekiel Bassey And Nnamso Edo
Published: December 30, 2014
Akwa United are struggling to hold on to their key players ahead of the 2014/15 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Six key players including Ezekiel Bassey, Emmanuel Ariwa, Nnamso Edo, Kufre Ebong, Utibe Achiebong and Aniefiong Godspower are all rumoured to be on their way out of the club.
The offensive duo of Bassey and Edo are reported to be closing in on moves to CAF Champions League campaigners Enyimba International.
The quartet of Utibe, Ariwa, Godspower and Ariwa are also close to sigining for some unnamed clubs in the land.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the poor financial package at the club is the reason for their decision.
The situation is becoming murkier by the day as more players are anxious to seek new adventures elsewhere.
“We are likely going to lose some of our key players,” a top official of the club told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The difficulty is that you identify these players and the next minute, they are on their way out,” the official highlighted.
