Kano Pillars Star Christian Obiozor Rues Disallowed Goal Against Al-Malaika
Published: February 14, 2015
Kano Pillars forward Christian Obiozor was furious that a legitimate goal he scored against Al-Malaika in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League was disallowed by the linesman.
The Nigeria Premier League champions went on to win the tie 2 - 0, thanks to goals from Obiozor and Gambo Mohammed.
And Obiozor, who was signed by Pillars from Enugu Rangers in the close season, has thrown caution to the wind, saying the Kano - based side are sure of qualifying for the next round of the competition.
“It was a very good game. I am disappointed that I scored a goal which was cancelled, ” says Christian Obiozor to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“It happened in the sixth minute, the referee pointed to the center circle , it was his assistant that said no.
“The officiating was not fair, I think they favoured the home team. Based on the first leg result, I think we are through to the next round.”
Kano Pillars will jet into the country from South Sudan, where today’s game was played, on Monday.
