Ex - Giwa Striker Ibrahim Shuaibu Negotiating Three - Year Deal With FK Haugesund After Netting Hat-trick
Published: January 25, 2016
Norwegian Tippeligaen side FK Haugesund are running the rule over Ibrahim Shuaibu with a view to a transfer in the winter transfer market.
Regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the Nigeria Professional Football League, the 19-year-old played on loan at Giwa FC for the whole of last season before returning to his parent club Golden Boot Soccer Academy.
Shuaibu showed his brilliance in a test game against Stord on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick and notching a helper in FK Haugesund’s 6-0 hammering of the Second Division newcomers after coming on in the second half.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands a contract is currently being negotiated and the striker will have a three - year deal in his hand which is expected to be signed in Spain during winter training, if all goes well.
FK Haugesund will pull off a major transfer coup should they secure the services of Ibrahim Shuaibu as he has been linked with a move to European powerhouses Ajax Amsterdam and CSKA Moscow while a transfer to Heerenveen collapsed after the Dutch club could not secure him a visa.
Ajax Amsterdam had sent their Head Scout Jan Dekoning to observe him at close quarters and he was accompanied on the trip to Abuja by another scout, Harm Sinkgraven.
The teenager has been described as the poor man’s Luis Suarez, very clinical in front of goal and rarely wastes scoring opportunities.
He traveled with the FK Haugesund squad to Spain for pre-season training on Sunday night and will stay in Marbella for ten days.
