New Super Eagles Invitee : Why Eddy Onazi Is My Role Model
Published: September 27, 2017
Akwa United star Afeez Aremu will definitely train with the Super Eagles
when they begin preparations for their World Cup qualifier against
Zambia next Monday, despite being named on the standby list.
The teenage midfielder has been rewarded with a maiden call-up to the national team thanks to his outstanding display at the recently concluded WAFU Cup of Nations, where he was named to the Team of the Tournament.
''This is a great opportunity for me to train with the main Super Eagles, at least I am going to learn something from each and everyone of them,'' said Aremu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I am very good marker without the ball, I can also shoot on target from far, both left and right, As a defensive midfielder I can make long and short passes.''
Asked for his role model in the Super Eagles, Aremu replied : ''Ogenyi Onazi is my role model in the main Super Eagles.
''I chose him because our playing pattern is almost the same on the field of play and he is also a very humble person''.
