Awaziem In The Plans Of Porto Coach, Handed Brand New Jersey Number
Published: July 28, 2018Chidozie Awaziem is definitely in the plans of Porto manager Sérgio Conceição for the 2018-2019 season, based on the jersey numbers assigned to the players on Saturday.
The Super Eagles central defender has been handed the number five jersey which was worn by Ivan Marcano prior to his transfer to AS Roma this summer.
Mikel Agu was not named among the 26 first-teamers and this suggests that he has been declared surplus to requirements and another loan move or permanent transfer is on the cards.
Awaziem donned the number six kit when he first played for Porto U19s in the UEFA Youth League during the 2014-2015 season, the following season he was allocated the number 63 shirt.
The 21-year-old sported the number 33 shirt in the 2016-2017 campaign while he played with number 12 at FC Nantes last term.
He has appeared in 10 matches for the first team of Porto in the Primeira Liga, logging 854 minutes.
