Done Deal: Ex-Watford Striker Once Hailed As The Nigerian Messi Joins New Club In England
Published: January 22, 2019Through a statement on their official website, Southern League Premier Division South Hendon FC have announced the signing of young Nigerian striker Ogo Obi on dual registration with Vanarama National League South side Wealdstone.
Aged 20, Obi had been tipped for great things during his time at the Watford Academy, so much so that he was labelled the Nigerian Messi but has fallen off the radar after he was released by the Hornets in the summer of 2017.
After Obi's departure from Watford, he joined National League South outfit Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club and spent the second part of last season at Cardiff City.
The former Manchester United target is eligible to make his debut for Hendon against Weymouth this evening.
Obi started this campaign at Hampton & Richmond Borough before moving to Wealdstone just before Christmas.
