Middlesbrough Want To Sign Another Nigerian Player But Face Competition From West Ham, Spurs
Published: January 23, 2019It is no secret that Sunderland hotshot Maja could depart the League One club before the transfer window closes for business next week.
According to the Daily Star UK, Middlesbrough are ready to enter the race to sign Sunderland top scorer Josh Maja if their neighbours decide to cash in on him this month.
He is the second Nigerian player linked with a move to Boro in recent days as they are close to confirming the signing of former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
Maja is also on the wish list of West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur, Celtic and Rangers.
The 20-year-old, who is reluctant to sign a new deal with The Black Cats, is considered one of the hottest prospects in League One and was named EFL Young Player of the Month for August 2018.
The striker is rated in the region of four million pounds by Sunderland.
