Arsenal's Balogun Thrilled To Score His First Premier League 2 Goal Of The Season
Published: March 06, 2019Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun was delighted to get on the
scoresheet for the first time for the U23s this season as they fought
back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Swansea City in the
Premier League 2 on Monday night.
With the
Gunners trailing 2-0, manager Freddie Ljungberg introduced the England
U18s star at half-time, and he started the comeback when his deflected
shot from 20 yards beat the Swans goalkeeper.
Speaking
to arsenal.com, Balogun said : ''I just thought that we needed to add
more tempo to the game and I wanted to make an impact.
''I knew that once we upped the tempo and grabbed the first goal we were always going to grab something from the game.
''At
the end of the day I just want to help the team every week and if I can
help with a goal or two every now and then I’ll be happy.''
Balogun has scored 20 goals in all competitions for Arsenal's youth teams this term,
including 16 goals for the U18s in the U18 Premier League.
